All together Kakadu National Park boasts more than 10,000 species of insects, 280 species of birds, 117 species of reptiles, 60 species of mammals and 53 difference species of fresh water fish.
Another reason for people to venture here is the amazing history of Aboriginal culture here which stretches back more then 40,000 years. The Aboriginal people are the original ancient hunters and gatherers who still live a semi-traditional lifestyle and play an integral role in land conservation and the management of this vast and intriguing wilderness.
